Finca Los Bellotos is owned by CAFÉ PACAS which has been working in coffee for 5 generations. In 2009 they decided to continue expanding the coffee growing areas by purchasing this Finca, Los Bellotos, which takes its name from the Belloto trees, not very common in El Salvador, which grow around the farm. These trees provide a very persistent shade to the coffee plants, which is one of the uniqueness of this coffee.
Michele’ suggestion: I chose Finca Los Bellotos for three reasons.
The first one is sustainability, which is a really important theme for me. The farm offers jobs to 50 people and is committed to providing them good working conditions, salary and training courses.
The second one is a zero environmental impact. Café Pacas is constantly working on the conservation of the ground and water of its plantation.
The third one is that the family is investing in the area for improve it, with an intense renewal of its coffee and shade plants using high quality varieties such as red Bourbon, Pacas and pacamara; and they continue to improve them through innovative methods of cultivation.
