SAN JOAQUIN belongs to the Pacas family since 1905. It rises 1,700 meters above sea level on the Ayeco plateau on the north eastern part of the Lamatepec volcano. This volcano belongs to the Apaneca-Lamatepec mountain range, considered one of the most important coffee regions in El Salvador.
It is called “THE FARM OF THE SUN IN THE MORNING”, because, due to its position, the trees receive only natural light before midday, which is an extraordinary natural method for repairing coffee cherries.
The farm takes its name from the patron of the city of which the Pacas family originated, and started with only 17 hectares, growing over the years, now counting almost 45 hectares, of which 30 hectares destined for the coffee cultivation, with 2,938 coffee trees per hectare, of different varieties (bourbon, Pacas, Pacamara and mokka) and the others destined to respect the forest and local fauna.
Michele’ suggestion: this coffee represents the philosophy of Pacas family’s sustainable working methodology renamed “Agobio”. Environmentally friendly cultivation, with great control and attention to quality.
